In August 1966, 21-year-old Raymond Pavlove arrived in Parry Sound in a pink and white Pontiac, ready to begin his first teaching job. Sixty years later, his story reaches far beyond the classroom. From introducing generations of children to curling and connecting students with schools around the world to his decades of involvement with Rotary, the Legion and Bobby Orr, Ray has spent a lifetime bringing people together. Along the way, he has discovered that some of life's most meaningful accomplishments aren't measured by awards, but by the opportunities we create for others.

Susan Poole’s journey to Parry Sound began with a dream of owning a bed and breakfast and grew into a life built around community, connection and helping others succeed.
